22 June 2017 Toastmaster’s Report

“SHOW ME THE MONEY” The theme of the meeting, a theme that certainly evoked some interesting topics of conversation. Reference was made to the theme by various speakers throughout the meeting.
 
Visitors Thomas, John, Wendy and Chris were introduced to the membership by Ann. Congratulations to John, Wendy and Thomas who have joined Maylands Toastmasters.
 
New members Inna, Bikram, Hossein and Arjun were inducted into membership by club president Paul Hemmings. Welcome to Maylands Toastmasters.
 
Formalities complete and the meeting progressed with the Grammarian Bikram Koirala presenting the word of the day. A very interesting word used by several members and quite consistently by our esteemed member Sean Gomes.
 
New member Inna Rozhnatovska presented the Warm Up. Thankyou Inna for a great presentation, one easy to follow with some interesting dialogue eventuating.
 
Luan Duong presented his 8th speech – “Conquering Human Fear”. Congratulations Luan, a very interesting and thought provoking speech.
 
Evaluation of Luan speech was by Sze Howe. Congratulations Sze Howe for a very supportive and encouraging evaluation.
 
Sean Gomes presented Table Topics using the theme of the meeting “Show me the Money”. Some great topics with equally great responses by participants. Evaluation of Table Topics was by Matt Griggs. Very positive and supportive evaluations.
 
The Umms and Err report was present by Hossein Darvish, a very comprehensive analysis and suggestions to members on how to overcome “filler” words.
 
AJ Murthy tested our listening skills with some excellent questions with the Hark Master Report. Congratulations AJ.
 
Paul Hemmings presented a Workshop on “Personal Feedback”. Very interesting feedback from all participants.
 
The dynamic duo Barbara Harrison and Kim Walters presented a very precise and comprehensive Timing Report.
 
Keith Cundale presented the General Evaluation report. Keith presented an excellent report, using the Commend-Recommend-Commend method of evaluating. A very thorough report, one of support and encouragement to all.
 
Another fabulous meeting at Maylands Toastmasters. A totally relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The support and encouragement to each other is a testament to a great club.
